How we work
The construction process is quite clean. First, we assemble the metal structure of galvanized steel profiles, screwed to the floor and ceiling. Electrical cables and water pipes, if any, are routed, and the interior is filled with rock wool or glass wool blankets, providing significant acoustic insulation. Plasterboard panels are screwed on both sides. Joints are taped with fibre tape and joint compound, sanded between layers until a completely smooth surface ready for painting is achieved. Kitchens in typical 80s flats often have small, dark tiles that age poorly. Replacing all the tiles is a major renovation. An alternative that is working well is to paint the tiles with specific tile enamels after sanding and priming. It holds up perfectly for 5-7 years with normal use and costs a tenth of replacing the tiles.
