Our Enamelling Process: From Preparation to Perfection
Our comprehensive enamelling process is designed for efficiency and a superior finish, typically completed within 1-3 days for an average Gràcia flat. It begins with a detailed assessment and surface preparation (Step 1). We start by protecting surrounding areas with masking tape and drop cloths. Then, we meticulously clean, sand, and fill any imperfections on the doors and windows. This crucial stage can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the current condition of the surfaces. Next, we apply a high-quality primer (Step 2). This ensures optimal adhesion of the enamel and provides an even base for the final coats. This step usually requires 1-2 hours, followed by adequate drying time. After the primer has cured, we apply the first coat of enamel (Step 3). We use professional spraying techniques or fine brushes for a smooth, uniform finish. This takes approximately 2-4 hours per coat, with a recommended drying interval of 4-6 hours before the second coat. Finally, we apply a second, and sometimes a third, coat of enamel (Step 4) to achieve maximum durability and a rich, deep colour. After the final coat, we conduct a thorough inspection and clean up the work area, leaving your home spotless. This final stage, including drying, can take up to 8-12 hours before the surfaces are fully cured for normal use.
