Our Enamel Painting Process: Precision and Durability
Our commitment to quality ensures a methodical approach for every door and window enamel painting project. We follow a proven four-step process to guarantee a superior, long-lasting finish:
- 1
Thorough Preparation (1-2 hours per item)
We begin by carefully cleaning the surfaces, removing all dirt, grease, and loose paint. Any existing flaking enamel is meticulously scraped and sanded down to a smooth base. We then fill minor imperfections, such as small dents or cracks, with appropriate fillers, ensuring a perfectly even substrate for the new coating.
- 2
Masking and Priming (0.5-1 hour per item)
Adjacent areas, including glass, hinges, and walls, are precisely masked off to prevent accidental paint transfer. A high-quality primer is then applied. This step is crucial for promoting adhesion, blocking stains, and ensuring colour uniformity, especially when transitioning from a dark to a lighter shade.
- 3
Enamel Application (2-3 coats, 1-2 hours per coat)
We apply two to three coats of premium enamel paint, allowing adequate drying time between each application. Our skilled technicians use professional brushes, rollers, or sprayers, depending on the surface and desired finish, to achieve a smooth, streak-free result. The number of coats depends on the chosen colour and the condition of the surface.
- 4
Final Inspection and Clean-up (0.5-1 hour per project)
Once the final coat is dry, we carefully remove all masking tape and protective coverings. A thorough inspection is conducted to ensure the finish is flawless and meets our high standards. We then clean the work area, leaving your property tidy and your doors and windows looking brand new.
