Our Wall Smoothing Process: From Preparation to Perfection
Our comprehensive wall smoothing process is designed for efficiency and a superior finish, typically completed over 2-4 days depending on the area. We begin with meticulous preparation: Step 1: Surface Assessment and Preparation (1-2 hours). We thoroughly inspect the walls, identify all imperfections, and protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape. Any loose paint or debris is removed, and significant cracks are opened and filled. Step 2: Initial Skimming Coat Application (3-5 hours per room). A first layer of smoothing compound is applied evenly across the entire surface. This coat addresses major irregularities and provides a base for subsequent layers. Drying time for this stage is typically 12-24 hours. Step 3: Second Skimming Coat and Sanding (4-6 hours per room). Once the first coat is dry, a second, finer layer of compound is applied to achieve ultimate smoothness. After another 12-24 hour drying period, the walls are meticulously sanded using professional dust-extraction equipment to create a perfectly uniform surface. Step 4: Final Inspection and Priming (2-3 hours per room). We conduct a final quality check, ensuring all surfaces are flawless. A high-quality primer is then applied, sealing the compound and creating an ideal base for your chosen paint finish. This final step is crucial for paint adhesion and durability.
