Our Process for Smooth, Perfect Walls
Wall smoothing is a methodical process we carry out in 4 steps to ensure maximum quality. First, preparation and protection (approx. 2-4 hours): We cover floors, furniture, and sensitive items with plastic sheeting and masking tape to prevent any splashes or damage. We remove elements that might obstruct, such as light switches. Second, texture removal (approx. 6-12 hours per room): If 'gotelé' is present, we scrape it off or apply specific products to soften and remove it. Cracks are slightly widened and cleaned for better adhesion of the filler material. Third, application of levelling compound (approx. 8-16 hours per room): We apply one or more layers of special smoothing plaster or compound, spreading it uniformly with spatulas and trowels. We allow adequate drying time between coats, depending on environmental conditions. Fourth, sanding and final cleaning (approx. 3-6 hours per room): Once the compound is dry, we sand the entire surface with fine-grit sandpaper (P120-P240) for a perfectly smooth, blemish-free finish. We remove the generated dust and leave the area ready for primer and paint. The total time varies based on room size and the initial condition of the walls.
