How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only 'dimmable' labelled LEDs work well with a dimmer. Old halogen lights dim without issue, but they are rarely used now due to their energy consumption. To add a new socket where there was none before, there are two approaches. The first is to chase the wall. This involves opening a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable inside, and then closing the chase with plaster. This is the most visually clean option but involves a small amount of building work and repainting the wall. Timeframe: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
