Our Method for Installing New Electrical Points
Our process for adding new light points or sockets is designed for efficiency and minimal disruption, typically completed within a few hours to a full day depending on complexity. It involves four key steps:
- 1
Initial Consultation & Assessment (15-30 minutes)
We begin by discussing your requirements and conducting a thorough on-site assessment of your current electrical installation, consumer unit capacity, and the proposed locations for new points. This ensures compatibility and identifies any potential challenges.
- 2
Planning & Preparation (30-60 minutes)
Based on the assessment, we plan the most efficient and compliant routing for new wiring, selecting appropriate materials. We then prepare the work area, ensuring safety and protecting surrounding surfaces.
- 3
Installation & Wiring (2-6 hours per point)
This is the core of the work, involving cutting into walls (if necessary), running new cables, installing junction boxes, and fitting the new sockets or light fixtures. All connections are made securely and tested rigorously.
- 4
Testing & Certification (30-45 minutes)
Once installed, all new points are thoroughly tested for continuity, polarity, earth resistance, and proper functioning. We ensure compliance with the Reglamento Electrotécnico para Baja Tensión (REBT) and provide necessary documentation, including a boletín if required for significant alterations.
