Our repair process is designed for efficiency and minimal disruption, typically completed within a few hours for minor damage or a full day for more extensive work. Here's how we ensure a perfect finish:

   Assessment and Preparation (15-30 minutes)

   Upon arrival, our technician will thoroughly inspect the damaged area, identify the cause, and determine the best repair strategy. We'll then prepare the workspace by protecting surrounding furniture and flooring with drop cloths.

   Damage Remediation (30-180 minutes)

   This involves carefully cutting out the damaged section of Pladur, ensuring clean edges. For water damage, we'll confirm the source is resolved and the area is dry. We then install a new piece of plasterboard, precisely cut to fit, and secure it with appropriate screws or adhesive.

   Jointing and Skimming (60-240 minutes)

   Once the new section is in place, we apply jointing compound to the seams, embed jointing tape, and then apply a thin layer of plaster (skimming) over the entire repaired area. This step is crucial for achieving a perfectly smooth and uniform surface. We allow for initial drying time.

   Sanding and Finishing (30-60 minutes)

   After the compound is dry, we meticulously sand the area to eliminate any imperfections, ensuring it's flush with the existing wall or ceiling. The surface is then cleaned, primed, and prepared for painting, leaving it ready for your chosen finish. We aim to complete most repairs within a single visit, though larger projects might require a return for final sanding after curing.

For any repair to be durable and effective, using the correct materials is paramount. We exclusively work with high-quality products that meet industry standards and are suited for the specific conditions of Barcelona's climate and building stock. Our primary material for patching and replacement is standard gypsum plasterboard, typically 12.5mm or 15mm thick, depending on the original installation. For areas prone to moisture, such as bathrooms or kitchens, we utilise moisture-resistant (H1) Pladur, identifiable by its green facing, which offers enhanced protection against humidity and potential mould growth. For fire-rated partitions, we employ fire-resistant (F) plasterboard, distinguished by its pink facing. We rely on reputable brands for our jointing compounds, tapes, and primers, including Knauf and Placo, ensuring excellent adhesion, smooth finish, and long-term stability. These brands are well-established in the Spanish market and known for their reliability in professional applications.
