Our Venetian Stucco Application Process
Achieving a pristine Venetian stucco finish requires precision and expertise, which our team follows through a well-defined four-step process:
- 1
Surface Preparation (1-2 days)
We begin by thoroughly cleaning, repairing, and priming the walls. This includes filling any cracks or imperfections and applying a specific primer to ensure optimal adhesion for the stucco. This foundational step is crucial for the final finish's longevity and appearance.
- 2
First Stucco Coat Application (1 day)
The initial layer of Venetian stucco is applied evenly across the prepared surface. This coat establishes the base colour and texture, and is allowed to dry completely to ensure stability before subsequent layers are added.
- 3
Second & Third Coat Application (1-2 days)
We then apply two more thin coats, using a specialised trowel to build up depth and create the characteristic variegated pattern. Each layer is burnished as it dries, enhancing the material's natural sheen and creating the desired marble-like effect.
- 4
Polishing & Sealing (1 day)
Once the final stucco layer is dry, we meticulously polish the surface to achieve its signature high-gloss finish. A protective wax or sealer is then applied to enhance durability, provide water resistance, and ensure the finish remains vibrant for years to come. The entire process typically takes 4-6 days, depending on the surface area.
