If the radiator still heats poorly after bleeding, there are other, more serious possible causes. Sludge accumulation is the primary one. Over the years, the water in the heating circuit generates oxides and mineral residues that settle in the radiators, especially in their lower part. This sludge reduces the useful flow section of the water and creates cold zones. The solution is chemical flushing of the complete circuit with a specific descaling product, which is introduced with the boiler off, circulated for a few hours. It is completely drained before refilling with new water treated with a corrosion inhibitor.
