How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the luminaire is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LEDs labelled 'dimmable' work well with a dimmer. Old halogens dim without issue but are rarely used now due to consumption. To add a new socket where there was none, there are two approaches. The first is chasing. Open a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, run the cable inside, and close the chase with plaster. This is visually the cleanest but involves minor construction work and repainting the wall. Timeframe: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
