How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the luminaire is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LED bulbs labelled 'dimmable' work well with a dimmer. Old halogen lights dim without issue but are rarely used now due to power consumption. To add a new socket where there wasn't one, there are two approaches. The first is chasing. This involves opening a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable inside, and then closing the chase with plaster. This is the cleanest visually but involves minor construction and repainting the wall. Timeline: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
