How we work
Changing from a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only dimmable LED bulbs work well with a dimmer. Old halogen lights do dim without a problem but are hardly used anymore due to their power consumption. To add a new socket where there was none before, there are two approaches. The first is chases. Open a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, run the cable through, and close the chase with plaster. This is the cleanest visually but involves minor construction and repainting the wall. Timeframe: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
