How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch first requires checking that the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only dimmable-labelled LEDs work well with a dimmer. Old halogen lights do dim without issue but are rarely used now due to consumption. To add a new plug socket where there wasn't one before, there are two approaches. The first is chasing. Cutting a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable inside, and closing the chase with plaster. This is visually the neatest but involves minor construction work and repainting the wall. Time: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
