How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch first requires checking that the luminaire is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LED bulbs labelled as 'dimmable' work well with a dimmer. Old halogen lights do dim without issue but are rarely used now due to their power consumption. To add a new socket where there was none, there are two approaches. The first is chasing. Cutting a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable inside, and closing the channel with plaster. This is the cleanest visually but involves minor building work and repainting the wall. Time: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
