If, after bleeding the radiator, it's still not heating properly, there could be more serious underlying causes. Sludge build-up is often the first culprit. Over the years, the water in the heating circuit accumulates rust and mineral deposits that settle in the radiators, particularly at the bottom. This sludge narrows the water channels, creating cold spots. The solution is a chemical flush of the entire circuit using a specific descaling product, circulated when the boiler is off for a few hours. It’s completely drained before refilling with new water treated with a corrosion inhibitor.
