How we work
Silicone is applied using a sealant gun with a continuous, uninterrupted motion. Pausing and resuming application creates visible irregularities. Immediately after application, it's smoothed with a silicone spatula or a finger dipped in soapy water to achieve the characteristic uniform concave finish. Masking tape is removed before the silicone begins to cure, within the first 5 minutes. First, all old silicone must be completely removed. New silicone cannot be applied over old silicone, as it won't adhere properly and will peel off within weeks. Removal is done using a special knife, scraper, and, in difficult cases, a specific softening chemical product that dissolves the old silicone without damaging the tile.
