How we work
Air conditioners on the Costa Blanca accumulate dirt significantly faster than in dry inland regions. Three factors combine. Firstly, the average relative humidity in coastal areas is 70-75 percent for much of the year, keeping the coil constantly exposed to condensation. Secondly, Saharan dust that arrives each summer leaves a thin but sticky layer that adheres to the fins and traps other pollutants. Thirdly, sea air with suspended particles loaded with salts contributes extra organic material to the filter. We clean the condensate tray and drain separately with a descaling agent because they tend to accumulate limescale. If the drain is partially blocked, we clear it with a flexible hose. Finally, after drying all components, we apply a certified disinfectant product for air conditioning use that eliminates residual bacteria and fungi without leaving hazardous chemical residues. The next step is cleaning the coil, the part with thousands of thin fins where the refrigerant gas circulates. We apply a specific descaling product for air conditioning, letting it act for 15-20 minutes depending on the level of dirt. We rinse with moderate water pressure, protecting the rest of the unit with plastic to prevent water from entering where it shouldn't. The correct technique requires experience: too much pressure bends the fins and reduces performance; too little fails to remove the dirt.
