It was a rainy day and they over sold tickets. We arrived at 11. 10am for the 11. 30am slot and queued for 25 mins outside then a further 20mins inside before we could get in (so it was 11. No one managing queue outside for the 11. 30am slot so lots of people just skipping the queue and pushing the children. No communication or staff around to help manage the massive queues. Horrendous experience. When we were finally allowed to proceed the venue was beyond crowded and overfull. My kids couldn’t see a thing. It was also very easy for the children to go missing because there were just hoards of people ahead and behind us. After 5 mins I gave up and went to the first floor for an extremely over priced lunch before heading home. Really really really bad experience. Port Bell is part of the Marina of Palo Cerro. We had lychee at a restaurant close to the marina and then strolled around the marina. It was a great feeling to walk along the port and look at the yacht in the good weather. There was a big street called Crom Street running parallel along Port-Bell, and there were huge shrimp statues called Barcelona Head and Escultura La Gamba, which was fun. Plus, it’s known for pickpockets and burglaries, so I wouldn’t recommend booking a hotel in those five areas if you want to stay safe.
