How we work
There are two approaches to adding a new socket where there wasn't one before. The first is chasing. Cutting a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable inside, and then sealing the channel with plaster. This is the most visually tidy option but involves minor construction work and repainting the wall. Timeline: 4-6 hours plus wall repair. Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LEDs labelled as dimmable work well with a dimmer. Old halogen bulbs do dim without issue but are rarely used now due to their consumption.
