How we work
To add a new socket where there wasn't one, there are two approaches. The first is chasing. This involves cutting a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable through, and then plastering over the channel. It's visually the cleanest solution but requires some minor construction work and repainting the wall. Estimated time: 4-6 hours plus wall repair. Changing a standard light switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking that the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LEDs labelled 'dimmable' work well with a dimmer. Older halogen bulbs are dimmable without issues, but they are rarely used now due to their high energy consumption.
