Built in 1903, following the design of architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch (1867-1956), this building had the goal of being a private residence. Although never having been inhabited, hosted other institutions before being what it is today, the Diputació de Barcelona. It was declared a "Cultural Good of National Interest" in March 2001. On my arrival here, there was a guard at the door and I found no need to enter, because I had already seen the outside and it was enough. It has interesting details, especially at the level of windows and balconies.

Designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch and built in 1908 for Pere Serra, the building features lovely Mudejar style roofs and pretty bay windows. It’s now government offices and used by the council of the province of the city. As another reviewer has commented, there’s a rather ugly, modern glass building behind Casa Serra that’s an extension of this building, also used by the council. The extension is completely unsympathetic to the style of Casa Serra. You’ll likely pass this building especially if doing a tour of all the Catalan Modernist buildings on Avinguda Diagonal, otherwise, it’s worth a small detour.
