How we work
The float mechanism works perfectly. The water outlet never stops, continuously flowing, and we had to turn off the stopcock to avoid waste. It's an old close-coupled cistern; the flat is from the 1960s. Two years ago I changed the flush valve for a new one (one of the blue and white plastic ones). Now water leaks into the bowl, and the tank never seems to stop filling. The stopcock is next to the tank. This is a mezzanine floor, the internal courtyard drain doesn't clear, and the downpipe is poorly constructed. We believe the entire installation needs replacing. Every time it rains, we get flooded. This is a communal work project; we need a quote for the community president.
