How we work
The construction process is quite clean. We first assemble the metal structure of galvanised steel profiles, screwed to the floor and ceiling. Electrical cables and water pipes, if any, are run through, and the interior is filled with rock wool or glass wool for considerable sound insulation. Plasterboard sheets are screwed to both sides. They are jointed with fibre tape and jointing compound, sanding between layers until a completely smooth surface is achieved, ready for painting. Kitchens in typical 80s apartments often have small, dark tiles that age poorly. Replacing the entire tiling is a major renovation. An alternative that is working well is painting the tiles with specific enamels for tiles after sanding and etching. It holds up perfectly for 5-7 years with normal use and costs a tenth of replacing the tiles.
