The first mistake is using a standard wall drill bit on tiles. The bit slips, and the tile cracks. You need a ceramic drill bit with a diamond tip. The second mistake is using the hammer function on tiles. The vibrations crack the tile from the inside, and fine cracks appear weeks later. You must drill without percussion. The third mistake is not marking the centre properly. A pencil mark on masking tape around the spot prevents the drill bit from slipping.
