The project originated from the desire to improve and recondition the outdoor spaces of the Open Centre to enhance their use and appearance. It is a process driven and executed by the Open Centre's user community itself, responding to their needs and aspirations. The process concluded with a large community celebration to present its results. We facilitate a participatory process that promotes collective construction, inclusion, and co-responsibility. Community problems and needs have been identified with the community itself. Possible ideas for space transformation have been worked on collectively, and mural painting has been experimented with. Finally, a furniture design has been created to address the needs identified in the diagnosis. Although the entire project has been coordinated by both entities, El globus vermell has been in charge of leading the second line of work (Design and construction of the modular furniture). The purpose of this action is to revitalise the space and identify its most important uses.

En Obert is a co-creation project framed within the Zona Nord Neighbourhood Plan of the Barcelona City Council and has been carried out throughout the 2022-2023 academic year jointly by B-Murals, the visual artist Julián Manzelli (Chu), and El globus vermell. The Open Centre of the Torre Baró neighbourhood in Barcelona is a space that contributes to the integral development of children and young people and prevents possible situations of social exclusion. The objective of its work is to improve the opportunities and living conditions of this group and the community in the neighbourhoods of Vallbona, Ciutat Meridiana, and Torre Baró.
