Our Enamel Painting Process: From Preparation to Perfection
Our door and window enamel painting process is designed for efficiency and lasting quality, typically completed within 1 to 3 days depending on the scope.
- 1
Initial Assessment & Surface Preparation (2-4 hours per door/window)
We begin by inspecting the doors and windows, identifying any repairs needed. This includes sanding down old paint, filling minor cracks or imperfections with wood filler, and thoroughly cleaning the surfaces to remove dust, grease, and grime. Proper preparation is crucial for optimal enamel adhesion.
- 2
Masking & Priming (1-2 hours per door/window)
All surrounding areas, including glass, hardware, and walls, are carefully masked off to prevent accidental paint transfer. We then apply a high-quality primer, specifically chosen for the substrate (wood, metal, or PVC), ensuring an even base and enhancing the durability of the final enamel coat.
- 3
Enamel Application (3-6 hours per door/window, including drying)
Once the primer is dry, we apply the first coat of enamel using brushes, rollers, or sprayers, depending on the desired finish and surface type. We allow adequate drying time, typically 4-6 hours, before applying a second coat. This layered approach ensures a rich, uniform colour and maximum durability.
- 4
Final Inspection & Clean-up (1-2 hours for entire project)
After the final coat has dried, we meticulously inspect all painted surfaces for imperfections. Masking tape is carefully removed, and the work area is thoroughly cleaned, leaving your home spotless and your doors and windows beautifully enamelled. We ensure you are completely satisfied with the result before concluding the project.
