Our Enamel Painting Process: A Step-by-Step Guide
Our enamel painting service follows a meticulous four-step process to ensure a superior, lasting finish:
- 1
Preparation and Protection (1-2 hours per door/window)
We begin by carefully cleaning the surfaces, removing any dirt, grease, or loose paint. Any hardware, such as hinges or handles, is masked or removed, and surrounding areas are protected with drop cloths and tape to prevent overspray. Minor imperfections are filled and sanded smooth.
- 2
Priming (1-2 hours per door/window, plus drying time)
An appropriate primer is applied to ensure optimal adhesion of the enamel, block stains, and create a uniform base. This step is crucial for durability and a consistent final colour. We allow adequate drying time as per manufacturer specifications, typically 2-4 hours.
- 3
Enamel Application (2-4 hours per door/window, per coat)
We apply two to three coats of high-quality enamel, using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment depending on the desired finish and surface type. Each coat is applied evenly, allowing sufficient drying time between applications to achieve maximum hardness and a flawless, streak-free result.
- 4
Final Inspection and Clean-up (0.5-1 hour)
Once the final coat is dry, we conduct a thorough inspection to ensure the finish meets our high standards. Masking tape and protective coverings are carefully removed, and the work area is meticulously cleaned, leaving your property spotless and your doors and windows beautifully enamelled.
