How we work
It's an old backpack cistern; the flat is from the 60s. Two years ago, I replaced the flush valve with a new one (the blue and white plastic type). Now it leaks water into the bowl, and the tank never seems to stop filling. The stopcock is next to the tank. It's a mezzanine flat; the internal patio drain doesn't work, and the downpipe is poorly constructed. We believe the entire system needs replacing. Every time it rains, it floods. It's a communal repair; we need a quote for the community president. The float mechanism works perfectly. The water outlet never stops; it keeps running, and we had to close the stopcock to avoid waste.
