The first mistake is using a standard wall drill bit on tiles. The tip slips, and the tile cracks. You must use a ceramic drill bit with a diamond tip. The second mistake is using an impact drill on tiles. Vibrations crack the tile from within, and fine cracks appear weeks later. You must drill without percussion. The third mistake is not marking the centre well. A pencil mark on masking tape around the point prevents the drill bit from slipping.
