How we work
It's an old backpack cistern; the flat is from the 60s. Two years ago, I replaced the flush mechanism with a new one (the blue and white plastic type). Now it's leaking into the bowl, and the tank seems to never stop filling. The stopcock is next to the tank. It's a mezzanine flat, the internal patio drain doesn't work, and the downpipe is poorly constructed. We think the entire system needs replacing. Every time it rains, it floods. This is a communal building issue, and we need a quote for the community president. The float mechanism works perfectly. The water outlet never stops running, constantly discharging, so we had to shut off the stopcock to avoid wasting water.
