In 1932, a suspension of payments was declared. From that moment on, the patronage found itself without any source of income. In 1941, the City Council dissolved the Housing Patronage and took over its assets. In December 1945, the Municipal Housing Institute was established, taking charge of it in 1956. The institute changed its name to the Municipal Housing Board. Baró de Viver was the mayor of Barcelona during Primo de Rivera's dictatorship. With the Republic, this name was changed to Pi i Margall, but General Franco's regime restored the old one.

These 344 single-family homes remained isolated between the Besòs River, the Renfe workshops, and the Besòs industrial estate. This was the oldest group of houses, as, apart from a few homes that were reoccupied after the war, others remained empty until 1944. A final arrival of immigrant population occurred in the years 1958-1959, with the construction of new blocks. In 1985, a reform was carried out following the approval of the PERI (Special Interior Reform Plan). In 1989, the Municipal Housing Board built the Gran Salón housing group, designed by architect Emilio Donato. The urbanisation of the neighbourhood is currently being improved.
