How we work
Changing a standard switch to a dimmer switch requires first checking if the light fitting is compatible. Standard LED bulbs are often not dimmable. Only LEDs labelled as dimmable work well with a dimmer. Old halogen bulbs are easily dimmable but are rarely used now due to energy consumption. To add a new socket where there wasn't one, there are two approaches. The first is creating a conduit. This involves cutting a channel in the wall from the nearest socket to the new point, running the cable through it, and then filling the channel with plaster. It's the most visually neat option but requires minor building work and repainting the wall. Timeline: 4-6 hours plus wall repair.
